Should Richard Sherman have sat out Thursday’s Seahawks game?

The Seattle Times—November 13, 2017

The Seattle Times reported that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman ruptured his Achilles tendon during a game last week.

HSS foot and ankle surgeon Andrew J. Elliott, MD, who did not treat Sherman, said an Achilles tendon tear is not an overuse injury. Additionally, Dr. Elliott noted that athletes who return from an Achilles rupture can tend to be a bit slower.
