Tech Target reports that HSS is working to replace fax machines with software linking the process to electronic health records. HSS clinicians can now place durable medical equipment (DME) orders without leaving Epic, the electronic health record system.

Christine Carey, manager of clinical applications at HSS, explains that the technology has not only afforded clinicians a seamless way to order necessary equipment for patients, but it has also provided visibility into shipment tracking.
