Myths and Facts About AS Treatment

Marie Suszynski from Everyday Health reports that Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) can be successfully managed but myths about the condition still persist, which can prevent patients from getting the treatment that they need. Marie suggests that for patients living with AS the first step is to receive the right treatment and learn to separate fact from fiction.

The article notes that a common fact about AS treatment is people who receive treatment within two years of being diagnosed are more likely to have a better outcome and achieve remission than those who delay getting diagnosed, says Susan M. Goodman, MD, a rheumatologist at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
