In an article for Silver Sneakers, reporter K. Aleisha Fetters highlighted six different fitness tests for older adults to assess their fitness levels. HSS sports performance specialist Jason Machowsky, RD, CSSD, RCEP, CSCS explained the importance of taking a fitness test.
Machowsky provided fitness tests that can help seniors identify weak spots before they hinder day-to-day life. Additionally, they can reveal someone’s greatest areas of strength.
The fitness tests included: Sit to stand; arm curl; chair sit and reach; back scratch; stand up and go; and march in place.
