SB Nation Radio hosted HSS sports medicine surgeon Joshua S. Dines, MD, live on-air to discuss recent injuries suffered by San Francisco 49ers players.

Dr. Dines, who did not treat the athletes, said that recovery from an ACL injury typically takes nine months.

"If the [ACL] surgery is done appropriately…  there's no reason to expect that [the player] won't be back to his previous level of play," Dr. Dines noted.

Additionally, Dr. Dines explained the importance of building relationships with patients and prioritizing their safety as a professional team physician.
