Red Bulls Defender Carlos Mendes Undergoes Season-Ending Hip Surgery

Paddock Talk—July 18, 2009

Red Bull New York announced today that defender Carlos Mendes underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn hip labrum. The surgery was performed by Dr. Bryan T. Kelly at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Mendes, who has carried the injury since August 2008, will miss six months and will be placed on the team’s Season-Ending Injury List.
