12 Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms You Shouldn’t Ignore

Prevention featured HSS rheumatologist Vivian P. Bykerk, BSc, MD, FRCPC, who addressed rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and its symptoms.

Dr. Bykerk explained that muscle stiffness is common for those with RA. If you feel like you can’t move the joint or fully straighten it, and this continues for more than six weeks, Dr. Bykerk recommended seeing a doctor.

Additionally, the article noted that nearly everyone with RA experiences fatigue. However, Dr. Bykerk said that once the disease is under control with treatment, the fatigue fades away.
