Diaphyseal filling, eccentric reaming may improve results with modular revision stems

In an article by Orthopedics Today, HSS hip and knee surgeon Jose A. Rodriguez, MD, discussed modular stems for revision hip arthroplasty. He spoke about the positives and negatives of using this technique during hip revisions.

"There are clear problems with modularity. There is no question it is more complicated...and the issue of cost is real and burdening us more every day," said Dr. Rodriguez.
