Orthopedics This Week reported that The Medicrea Group received FDA clearance for the company's PASS Tulip top-loading fixation construct, a tool used for hybrid spine surgery.
According to the article, the first patient-specific hybrid spine surgery was performed by HSS chief of spine service Frank Schwab, MD.
"Having these additional tools to achieve my surgical strategy translates to better alignment post-operatively and that’s clearly been shown to correlate with patient satisfaction and with long-term benefits of surgery," said Dr. Schwab.
