Ortho Spine News featured HSS orthopedic spine surgeon Frank P. Cammisa Jr., MD in an article about a new lateral interbody fusion device implant used for the first time during surgery to solve known surgical problems associated with legacy annual implant designs.
Dr. Cammisa explained that these implants have proven to be very effective in providing excellent surgical outcomes. He added that in contract to older ring-shaped implants with hollow cores, this implant’s "web structure spans the entire endplate providing strong initial fixation and minimizing subsidence."
