New York Post featured an article on New York Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury's recent concussion and sprained neck.
In speculation of when Ellsbury can return to the field, HSS neurologist Erin E. Manning, MD commented on the length of a recovery time after a concussion. Dr. Manning, who has not examined Ellsbury, said "he will have to wait for the symptoms to vanish before restarting light activity."
Dr. Manning added there are two types of sprained necks that could affect recovery time. "It could be the muscle or it could involve a ligament of the spine."
