The (ironic) medical journey of Caris LeVert

Nets Daily reported that Brooklyn Nets' Caris LeVert suffered a broken foot and went to HSS foot and ankle surgeon Martin J. O'Malley, MD, for care prior to the NBA draft.

According to the article, Dr. O'Malley took a piece of LeVert's hip bone and grafted it to his ankle to strengthen the joint. After the surgery, LeVert joined the Brooklyn Nets.

"He's one of those players who's going to get better in the NBA because he works," said Dr. O'Malley in a patient testimonial video.

"Hearing my name called during the 2016 NBA Draft was one of the proudest moments of my life. And now that I am a Brooklyn Net, I feel even more lucky to have Dr. O'Malley and HSS sports medicine surgeon Dr. Riley Williams treating the team and with us every day," said LeVert.
