We Tried Working Out With 750 People on an Aircraft Carrier

NBC News Better—September 15, 2017

NBC News Better reported that HSS primary care sports medicine physician Jordan D. Metzl, MD led a group workout of 750 people on the U.S.S. Intrepid. Dr. Metzl demonstrated exercises from IronStrength, his total body and high intensity workout.

Dr. Metzl discussed the benefits of group exercise, "the goal is to build a community. There are a number of studies that show that if you work out with people, you get a much better workout. People exercising together exercise about 25 to 30 percent harder in a group than they do by themselves."

"You get a great place, you get a great group, people are inspired, they all feed off each other, the energy is awesome," added Dr. Metzl.
