Six-month recovery normal for Shea Weber's injury, specialist says

Montreal Gazette featured HSS foot and ankle surgeon Andrew J. Elliott, MD, who discussed Montreal Canadiens’ Shea Weber’s surgery to repair tendons in his left foot.

Dr. Elliott, who did not treat Weber, explained that the injury shouldn’t give any long-term disability.

In terms of recovery after surgery, Dr. Elliott said "depending on which tendon, we usually immobilize them for a period of time, probably six weeks to eight weeks. We then let them start walking around and then we graduate them through physical therapy."
