Mets may call up top prospect Fernando Martinez with Ryan Church hurt

Ryan Church will be examined by team doctors in New York on Monday. He may have a hamstring strain that would send him to the disabled list, potentially paving the way for top prospect Fernando Martinez's promotion. "After last year, let's just find out what it is and deal with it," Church said Sunday.

Church expects to get an MRI on his right hamstring during the trip to Hospital for Special Surgery. His hamstring problems had caused his right hip and back to get out of whack, but that's been corrected with chiropractic work. Church doesn't know if realigning his body has just put stress on the hamstring or if there's something more seriously wrong.
