Michigan's Caris LeVert Undergoes Successful Surgery on Left Foot

Detroit Free Press—March 27, 2016

Detroit Free Press' Kirkland Crawford reports on University of Michigan senior guard Caris LeVert and his recent surgery on his left foot. According to the article, LeVert underwent successful surgery performed by Martin J. O'Malley, a foot and ankle surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery.

According a statement released in the article, Dr. O'Malley noted, "I would have recommended the same path the U-M medical staff followed by opting to let Caris' injury heal without surgery in January and February in hopes of getting him back later in the season. As we explored it further, we wanted to promote healing and prevention of a recurrence of this injury so we proceeded with surgery using enhancements that will yield success for years to come. Caris is expected to begin his rehabilitation in six weeks and with the expectation of a full recovery by this summer."
