Long Island Viewpoint—February 12, 2017

Long Island Viewpoint featured HSS neurologist-in-chief Dale J. Lange, MD in a segment about muscular dystrophy with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

When asked about patient care efforts for muscular dystrophy, Dr. Lange said "quality of care has improved markedly simply through our symptomatic care for patients, and MDA has been instrumental in supporting us in that role."

Additionally, Dr. Lange discussed the evolvement of new therapies toward genes in multiple diseases of muscular dystrophy and how it has been able to make a difference for patients. "New ways of treating patients with genetic modifying drugs have produced a substantial change and function," he added.
