Can Sideways Toe-Stretching Defeat Foot Problems?

The Wall Street Journal’s Laura Johannes reports that a simple exercise of stretching your toes can improve the health of your feet and prevent or ease foot pain.

According to Jordan D. Metzl, MD, a primary care sports medicine physician at Hospital for Special Surgery, "Toe-stretching is most effective for preventing and treating foot pain if you combine it with strengthening exercise – such as picking up marbles from the floor with your toes."
