Hospital for Special Surgery docs ride bikes in Central Park to motivate others

examiner.com—May 13, 2015

Grace Lichtenstein, NY Cycling Examiner, writes about Hospital for Special Surgery's bike team, which is made up of employees from various departments, such as orthopedics, pediatrics, anesthesiology, physical therapy, information technology, and more.

Lichtenstein spoke with HSS physiatry and sports medicine physician, Peter Moley, MD, about the best safety tips for cycling. He recommended, "Pay attention to the other riders, runners, walkers and animals. Try to predict problems, slow down and alert riders behind you of your intentions. Stay out of lanes that are not designated for bikes. If somebody is slowing you down, just wait until there is an appropriate time to pass."
