Communications platform improves clinical staff response times

HSS director of operational excellence Nick Wirth discussed how HSS improved its internal communication system at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference, Health Data Management reported.

After linking medical staff through the single communications platform PerfectServe, Wirth explained that the response time for relocating patients between areas has improved significantly. According to the article, 90 percent of moves are completed in less than 15 minutes.

Additionally, the article reported that HSS sought to improve surgical start times by giving physicians a more accurate schedule. HSS senior director Peter W. Grimaldi, MS, PA-C, MBA, MPT, shared that this reduces the average length of stay for patients.
