Wizards' Haywood out 4-6 months after surgery

The Sports Network (NBA)—October 17, 2008

Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, an injury originally suffered on October 2 during the team's training camp.

The procedure, which was performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, will keep Haywood in a cast for the next 10 weeks before he can begin the rehabilitation process. The UNC product is expected to make a full recovery within four to six months.
