What's Good by V featured HSS sports performance specialist Tiffany Chag MS, RD, CSCS, who explained how the body burns fat during low-intensity and high-intensity exercises.

According to the article, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a molecule that provides energy to the body, could be created from fatty acids.

"Our body needs oxygen to turn fat into ATP, and when we're resting or working out at a low intensity, that oxygen is readily available," said Chag.

Additionally, Chag pointed out the benefits of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) in moderation. For example, every third workout can be HIIT.

"This kind of breakdown will allow your body to recover and your muscle to repair after tough workouts, while still giving you the opportunity to move," she added.
