Bloomberg Markets: MacLean Discusses Health Care Value

Catherine H. MacLean, MD, PhD, chief value medical officer at Hospital for Special Surgery, was interviewed on Bloomberg Markets radio to discuss health care value.

"Health care value is the relationship between quality and cost," said Dr. MacLean. "At Hospital for Special Surgery, we're focused entirely on musculoskeletal diseases, so we're really looking to improve pain and functional status."

"We really need to get to a place where we are, as a routine part of the care we're delivering, measuring in a standard way whether we're actually helping people with their pain, function, and helping them achieve their goals."
