In the May issue of Martha Stewart Living, David S. Levine, MD, a foot and ankle surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, explains why people experience foot aches and pains.

In the article, Dr. Levine states, "They're amazing machines. When they work well, we take them for granted, but when they don't we feel it throughout our entire body," which is attributed to when someone shifts his or her gait to get more comfortable when experiencing pain.
