Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge aiming to be fit for next season after surgery to cure long-term issues

The Daily Mirror in Britain reports that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge traveled to the United States to undergo hip surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery. The surgery rules out Sturridge for the remainder of the season yet he could be fit enough to join pre-season training next year. 

The surgery was performed by Bryan Kelly, MD, Sports Medicine Surgeon and Co-Director for the Center for Hip Preservation at Hospital for Special Surgery.
