Do This At Home Before You Have Any Operation

Bottom Line Health—May 23, 2018

HSS occupational therapist Kathryn Keaney, OTD, OTR/L, explained how to prepare your home in advance of surgery to ensure an easy recovery for Bottom Line Health.

Keaney recommended clearing out anything that could be a tripping hazard in each room.

Additionally, she advised to arrange everyday kitchen essentials on countertops or in a cabinet within easy reach.

If the bedroom is upstairs, Keaney noted to consider temporarily relocating the bed to the main level of the home.
