Give Your Back a Break with Pain Prevention Tips from HSS

In a recent article published by Paramus Daily Voice, Bernard A. Rawlins, MD, a spine surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, offers advice to prevent back pain, including good habits and practices to promote spine health.

According to Dr. Rawlins, "Always pay attention to your posture and movements. Don't slouch when you're sitting or standing. Be mindful of the way you move, even during everyday activities such as loading the dishwasher or taking out the garbage."

Dr. Rawlins adds, "Maintain a healthy weight or try to lose weight if necessary, to relieve stress on your back."
