Neuraxial anesthesia cuts knee, hip replacement complications & length of stay: 3 key points

Becker's Orthopedic Review featured a study by HSS anesthesiologist Stavros G. Memtsoudis, MD, PhD on neuraxial anesthesia lowering healthcare costs for hip or knee replacements.

The article highlighted three key points from the study. "Use of neuraxial anesthesia utilization on a hospital level may very well emerge as an important marker of quality; however additional studies are needed to elucidate drivers associated with perioperative outcomes," said Dr. Memtsoudis.
