The No. 1 takeaway from the 2019 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference: It's the platform, stupid

Becker's Hospital Review features the recent 2019 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference that took place in San Francisco, California, with over 40,000 attendees from the industry.

One of the takeaways on how to leverage your platform was to become the hub for targeted services and chronic conditions or else patients will go elsewhere. They report that HSS, one of the presenters, is the best example as it has become a destination due to fewer complications, fewer infections, a higher discharge rate to home and fewer re-admissions. 

When patients come to HSS for a second opinion, one-third of the time, they receive a non-surgical recommendation.
