The Menopause-Arthritis Connection

The Arthritis Foundation—August 24, 2018

HSS rheumatologist Dalit Ashany, MD, addressed how women going through menopause can decrease the risk of developing osteoarthritis in an article by The Arthritis Foundation.

She recommended starting bone density screenings earlier for women with inflammatory arthritis than other women. Additionally, she advised doing weight-bearing exercise and getting enough calcium and vitamin D.
