HSS provides same-day and next-day access to orthopedic care for sudden injuries and severe pain. These are the types of problems that could otherwise require a visit to a hospital. Orthopedic care is provided by HSS doctors or physician assistants.
For emergencies (e.g. the bone has broken through the skin), please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency care location.
HSS is in-network with most major insurances. Please check with your insurance plan to see if a referral is required for specialty care.
Ortho Injury Care
In-person appointments with an HSS primary sports medicine physician.

- Monday: 8am-4pm
- Tuesday-Friday: 8am-6pm
- Saturday: 9am-12pm
- Ages seen: 6 years and older
Conditions treated include:
- A bone, joint or muscle injury that occurred within the past few days
- Possible sprained ankle or foot
- Possible sprained knee
- Possible broken bone (closed fractures only)
- Injury to hand, wrist or shoulder
- Rib injury
- Swollen joint
- Sports Injury

- Possible broken bones (ankle, foot, wrist, knee, shoulder, etc.)
- Acute severe pain in the neck or back that is causing you to have trouble moving
Please note: We are unable to treat open fractures, closed reductions, concussions, and conditions that require suturing.
