Dr. Michelle G. Carlson has over 25 years of expertise treating hand, wrist and upper extremity injuries like fractures, arthritis and neurological conditions. She has special expertise in sports-related injuries, pediatric hand surgery, hand disorders in women and overuse conditions such as carpal tunnel and trigger finger.
A leader in her field, Dr. Carlson has authored over 200 papers and book chapters. She has presented at over 300 national and international meetings and is recognized as a Top Doctor from Castle Connolly in multiple categories. She is also the recipient of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society/Zimmer Research Grant and the Lewis Clark Wagner Research Award.
Dr. Carlson is the official second opinion physician for the NBA and consults for several professional sports teams. She splits her practice between Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and HSS Florida and enjoys working with athletes of all levels and abilities.
