Kirsty Culley, PhD

Kirsty Culley, PhD, received her BSc in Biological Science and her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom). Dr. Culley is currently leading the biological studies of a NIH-funded R21 grant (in collaboration with Rush University) aimed at defining mechanobiological risk factors associated with the initiation of posttraumatic osteoarthritis. Dr. Culley’s research is focused on deciphering how key changes in chondrocyte function and cell signaling contribute to osteoarthritis initiation and progression. Through the use of techniques such as whole genome sequencing and bioreactor systems, her research aims to uncover relevant targets for the treatment of OA disease.
