Senior Director, Academic Training
Joined HSS in 2012
My role is all about reinforcing our culture of continuous learning and improvement. Providing the best possible training and mentoring for everyone here helps keep HSS number one in its field. I work with staff members at all levels throughout the organization from the leadership team to the medical staff and clinical care providers. Seeing employees and trainees grow and develop is tremendously rewarding. It’s a supportive, innovative environment that equips people to do, and be, their best. And it’s one of the many reasons I, and so many others, stay reaching 10, 20, 30 and even 40-plus years of service at HSS.
Senior Resource Development Coordinator, Professional Education
Joined HSS in 2012
I help acquire grants, exhibits, and sponsorships that fund professional education programs. The hospital is constantly evolving, and for me that means we can be more creative in the way that we recognize exhibitors and sponsors. My supervisor is always open to new ideas, and I really feel that I have the freedom and flexibility to approach my work in different ways. I’m always learning new things, which is extremely important to me. While working at HSS, I attended graduate school to earn my MBA in Healthcare Management, and HSS even provided partial reimbursement of tuition fees. HSS truly wants to see its people succeed.
When you join the Academic Training team, you will partner with colleagues across the hospital to organize and facilitate our highly sought after medical student, residency and fellowship programs. The Professional Education team routinely collaborates with HSS clinical services and notable domestic and international organizations to develop continuing medical education activities in musculoskeletal health. HSS Alumni also participate in these activities, continuing their lifelong journey and satisfying the considerable need for up-to-date educational resources. This team ensures accreditation and compliance for all accredited professional education activities sponsored by HSS, from live onsite programs to those on our world class digital platform, HSS eAcademy®.
