Denise Colvert, DNP, FNP-BC, is a clinician at Hospital for Special Surgery that specializes in back pain. She sees patients with some of the most complex back issues and enjoys helping people get back to doing what they love. Denise has over 10 years of experience caring for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her clinical experience in acute neurological rehabilitation, emergency medicine, and post-surgical care allow her to uncover many underlying causes of pain.
Since helping with the launch of the back pain center in the summer of 2017, Denise has seen hundreds of patients suffering from various back issues which is one of the leading causes of absences. She works closely with several members of the HSS clinical team including surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, physical therapists, and pain experts.
Research is also a fundamental part of Denise's practice. Denise has also presented the back pain program as part of the Spine Care Value and Cost Effectiveness of Non-Operative Measures HSS Webinar Series.
Denise earned her BSN from the Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing, her MSN from Pace University and her DNP at Grand Canyon University. She is involved in the Nurse Practitioners of New York and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
