Spinal Surgery Table (HSS-0024)

HSS Innovation

DESCRIPTION: Positioning of the patient is an important consideration in any back-related surgery. This spinal surgery table supports the patient with four cushioned posts that conform to the body. The surgeon can adjust all posts independently or simultaneously in the x, y, and z planes for optimal orientation of the patient during surgery. The posts suspend the patient above the surrounding framework allowing ease of x-ray imaging during the procedure.

APPLICATION: During spinal surgery, a patient must be positioned in a prone position to provide the surgeon access to the surgical site. It is typically desirable to raise and lower the patient, to raise one end of the patient relative to the other, and to tilt the patient's back towards and away from the surgeon along an axis running generally through the spine.

ADVANTAGES: 1) The surgeon can easily and simultaneously adjust the support cushions to orient the patient, including moving the support posts apart and equidistant from the spine of the patient. 2) The spinal surgery table is portable and readily attachable to most existing operating tables. 3) It is easy to manufacture, modify, and operate. 4) The table's framework provides easy and immediate access to film cassettes used in radiography during the surgery. 5) It is safe and because of its contour foam padding, no cutaneous trauma should occur.
