2009 Wholeness of Life Honoree - Edward V. Craig, MD

The Pastoral Care Committee is proud to announce that this year’s honoree of the 2009 Wholeness of Life Award of The HealthCare Chaplaincy is Edward V. Craig, MD. This prestigious award is given annually to a member of the HSS staff who contributes to the quality of care of our patients with understanding, patience and compassion.

As the Attending Orthopedic Surgeon here at HSS for the past 15 years, Dr. Craig has gained an excellent reputation amongst his orthopedic peers, our hospital staff and patients alike. In addition, he is an amazing and gifted teacher. While explaining a procedure for a total shoulder replacement or rotator cuff repair technology, he exhibits extraordinary patience and kindness. Dr. Craig has also completed a master’s degree in public health and is the author of articles in over 80 publications and recipient of numerous professional awards.

In addition, Dr. Craig’s gentle, caring nature as he sits at a patient’s bedside exhibits not only his professional expertise but also his holistic approach to caring for the “whole patient.”  His pastoral presence is sincere in giving his total and timeless attention yet always professional, committed, and compassionate.

He and his wife Kathryn live in Connecticut and are the proud parents of three children, MacKenzie, Kelsey and Taylor.
