On Oct. 4, 2008 - fall of her junior year - Lillian suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon while competing at the Pepperdine Invitational in Malibu, California. Surgery to repair the ruptured tendon was performed on Oct. 8, 2008 by Dr. Andrew Elliott at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Eight months of rehabilitation followed. Lillianís hard work and determination paid off as she returned to form this month by winning the county championship in the 1000-meter run.
