Lefty Reliever Josh Edgin Gets MRI, Has Mets Scrambling

Josh Edgin, who is experiencing elbow discomfort, was sent to New York for an MRI and to see team doctor David Altchek. Sandy Alderson said there is no report from the doctors after the Mets’ 7-4 loss to the Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium.

Expected to be the top lefty in the bullpen this season, Edgin said he had similar discomfort last August. Despite the red flag, the Alderson did not sign another lefthanded reliever to a major league contract this offseason.
