Advancing Concussion Diagnosis

As part of their Play Smart Play Safe campaign, NFL features concussion diagnosis in their recent awareness video.

"There's a number of scientific efforts underway such as blood biomarkers and the ability to assess abnormal patterns and brain waves," said Teena Shetty, MD, neurologist at HSS. "This will allow us to better detect these injuries earlier and to guide that patient about what the best decision is for them. The sooner we can diagnose these injuries the better we're able to treat them and prevent them."
