Lindsay Putnam of the New York Post reports on a new book in which the author claims to have cured herself of osteoporosis with a micronutrient diet.
"You make bone until your 30s, so if she was really unhealthy, it’s possible that she would be able to reverse the osteoporosis," says Dr. Linda Russell, a rheumatologist at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC who hasn’t treated Mira. "But the older you are, the harder that becomes; it’s the normal aging process to lose bone density, and there’s no proof you can reverse it."
