Scholar Program
The Kirkland Scholar Program supports outstanding nationally recognized senior scientists who direct a research program focused on systemic lupus erythematosus. The goals of the Kirkland Scholar Program are to build a cadre of basic science and clinical investigators dedicated to advancing a collaborative approach to lupus research; to provide manpower support for lupus research; and to stimulate young investigators to direct their career toward lupus research. The Kirkland Scholar Program is funded by Rheuminations, Inc. and is administered by the Mary Kirkland Center for Lupus Research. It is hoped that the Kirkland Scholar Program will build, over time, a stronger research base devoted to the elucidation of lupus and development of new therapeutic approaches.
