|What:||LupusLine is a national telephone peer counseling service staffed by trained volunteers who are lupus veterans, or family members. Callers are screened and matched by the program coordinator for the convenience of those wanting one-to-one support by telephone appointment from home.|
|When:||New callers are encouraged to contact the Program Manager between 9am and 5pm EST weekdays. After a telephone screening, you will be matched with a trained volunteer, who also has lupus or is a family member of someone with lupus. This volunteer can provide education and support over the telephone at a mutually convenient time (including evening/weekend hours).|

VOLUNTEERS ALSO NEEDED! In addition, we are always seeking volunteers (ages 18 and older) to help our programs grow. Participants find the training and volunteer experience extremely rewarding. If you live in the New York metropolitan area, we encourage you to contact the Program Coordinator listed above for more information.
Hospital for Special Surgery's LupusLine Program, made possible through funding by Rheuminations, Inc., reaches out to the communities we seek to serve in cooperation with the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation.
