At Hospital for Special Surgery’s 24th Annual Gala on June 7, 2007, HSS Trustees Patsy Warner and Kendrick Wilson announced the official launch of a new $100 million campaign, entitled Building on Success: The Campaign for the Future of Hospital for Special Surgery. Mrs. Warner and Mr. Wilson are co-chairing the campaign, which is raising capital support for the expansion and renovation of clinical facilities and the creation of a robust clinical research program. “The much needed expansion of our hospital is underway, and we have already made incredible progress,” said Mrs. Warner. “It’s because of the extraordinary generosity of the Hospital’s Board, medical staff, and friends that we are able to take these steps forward.”
The campaign co-chairs also announced a $1 million gift from Lehman Brothers, which will support a new Children’s Pavilion at Special Surgery. Richard Fuld, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Brothers, was the evening’s honoree, in recognition of his ongoing support of HSS. “This is an exceptional gift from an exceptional company,” said Mr. Wilson, as he announced the gift at the gala and thanked Mr. Fuld for his extraordinary generosity.
