Trouble Viewing Media

Video and audio files on HSS.edu can be viewed using the free programs Windows Media Player or Real Player, depending on the file. If you are having trouble opening the media on our site, make sure you have the latest version of each player. If you have the latest versions of each player and the media still won't open, this issue may occur if RTSP streams are not associated with your Real Player application. You may associate rtsp streams to be played in Real Player by following the procedure given below:

  1. Open Real Player
  2. Click on Tools -> Preferences
  3. In Preferences window, click on 'Media types' under 'Content' section. Check the item 'Manually configure media types for real player' and then click on 'Select...' button.
  4. In the window that pops up, please check 'Real-Time Streaming Protocol' item.

This should enable you to play the video/audio directly by launching the Real Player application when you click on a Real Player video/audio link on HSS.edu.

If you are still having trouble viewing a video or audio link, please contact us and choose "web site" as the subject. Please send us the url of the page you are experiencing trouble with, and describe your issue in as much detail as possible.
